Temperature resolution

The temperature resolution describes the smallest distinguishable difference between two displays of a display device. With a digital display, this appears as a change in the display, where the last digit in the display changes by one digit step.

For portable infrared thermometers, the resolution is shown on the associated display, for stationary pyrometers and infrared temperature sensors via the PLC or the panel meter/LED display on the machine.

The temperature resolution of pyrometers, infrared temperature sensors and infrared thermometers is usually between 0.1°C and 0.01°C.
